Multifractality and Fock-space localization in many-body localized states: One-particle density matrix perspective

چکیده
Many-body localization (MBL) is well characterized in Fock space. To quantify the degree of this space localization, multifractal dimension $D_q$ employed; it has been claimed that shows a jump from delocalized value $D_q=1$ ETH phase (ETH: eigenstate thermalization hypothesis) to smaller $0<D_q<1$ at ETH-MBL transition, yet exhibiting conspicuous discrepancy fully localized $D_q=0$, which indicate multifractality remains inside MBL phase. Here, better situation we employ, instead commonly used computational basis, one-particle density matrix (OPDM) and use its eigenstates (natural orbitals) as state basis for representing many-body $|\psi\rangle$ system. Using compute other indices quantifying such local purity $S$, derived occupation spectrum $\{n_\alpha\}$ (eigenvalues OPDM). We highlight statistical distribution Hamming distance $x_{\mu\nu}$ occurring pair-wise coefficients $|a_\mu|^2|a_\nu|^2$ compare with related quantity considered literature.

Many-Body Localization Characterized from a One-Particle Perspective.
We show that the one-particle density matrix ρ can be used to characterize the interaction-driven many-body localization transition in closed fermionic systems. The natural orbitals (the eigenstates of ρ) are localized in the many-body localized phase and spread out when one enters the delocalized phase, while the occupation spectrum (the set of eigenvalues of ρ) reveals the distinctive Fock-sp...
متن کاملMany-Body Localization Implies that Eigenvectors are Matrix-Product States.
The phenomenon of many-body localization has received a lot of attention recently, both for its implications in condensed-matter physics of allowing systems to be an insulator even at nonzero temperature as well as in the context of the foundations of quantum statistical mechanics, providing examples of systems showing the absence of thermalization following out-of-equilibrium dynamics. In this...
متن کاملDoes localization occur in a hierarchical random – matrix model for many – body states ? 1
We use random–matrix theory and supersymmetry techniques to work out the two– point correlation function between states in a hierarchical model which employs Feshbach’s chaining hypothesis: Classes of many–body states are introduced. Only states within the same or neighboring classes are coupled. We assume that the density of states per class grows monotonically with class index. The problem is...
متن کاملTwo-particle resonant states in a many-body mean field.
A formalism to evaluate the resonant states produced by two particles moving outside a closed shell core is presented. It is found that long lived two-body states (including bound states) are mostly determined by either bound single-particle states or by narrow single-particle resonances. However, they can be significantly affected by the continuum part of the spectrum.
